Case: Mr.Shiraz started a business of producing cosmetic products. He simply
incorporated all the features of the products of the same type produced by
other organizations. But he thought that only these features would not only get
him a sufficient share in the market but would also offer him a long term stay
in the market. This happened for a certain period of time and he kept on
producing the same products. Although he kept the customers on high priority
but did not create a research department in his organization that would help in
forecasting customer demands so that timely efforts may be undertaken to
meet them and ultimately the organization may prosper. Due to this, soon the
products his firm started to lose its market share due to change in the customer
taste and also by the new features offered by the competitors. Along with this,
he did not consider the voice of employees for the new ideas that they
communicated. There was no culture of acquiring knowledge or knowledge
sharing. The only thing existed was to produce the same product as they
started.
Question 1: Is it correct to mention that the culture of this organization is in
line with the Total Quality Culture? Discuss with proper logics.
Question 2: Suggest changes or improvements for this organization so that its
culture may be a Total Quality Culture and it may become a market leader?
