CM sees tens of thousands of jobs coming

*Shahbaz says Chinese president's announcements have laid the foundation of bright economic future

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that that tens of thousands of jobs would be created due to the Chinese investment.

The Chinese president's announcements have laid the foundation of a bright economic future for Pakistan.

Talking to reporters in Islamabad after signing of several agreements, he said that work would be carried out round-the-clock on the projects while the agreements finalised would be implemented speedily.

He said that the speech of Chinese president has given a new courage and hope to the Pakistanis. He said that the coming years would be an era of economic development and prosperity for Pakistan. He said that the Pakistanis would have more joys under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to the heads of government and private sector companies associated with energy, infrastructure, transport and mining, Shahbaz said that due to the historic visit of the Chinese president, a new history of friendship is being written and a new dimension has been given to the unprecedented relations between the two countries. He said that the visit would write a new chapter of progress and prosperity. He said that the visit is a historic event for the people of Pakistan and the day would always be remembered in the country's history.

A delegation led by Power China Company chairman which constructed the biggest dam of the world met Shahbaz. It was agreed in the meeting to increase cooperation for the projects of power generation from water resources. The CM said that electricity would be generated from water reserves in Punjab with the cooperation of China. He said that China is making investment of billions of dollars in energy sector in Pakistan and the world has seen that those who were declaring investment in energy sector as loan were misleading. He said that the visit would prove to be a game-changer in economic and trade sectors.

A delegation of China Railways and Noranco International also met Shahbaz and discussed Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project.
