LUMS sets the stage for ‘The Producers’

LAHORE: "The Producers" was played on Saturday at the Ali Auditorium of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

It is a theatrical adaptation of the famous film with the same name, which received an academy award.
The play not only enthralled the audience but also received appreciation and applaud. With every scene, a pin-drop silence was followed by applaud to praise the performance of actors.
The play is a phenomenal Mel Brooks musical comedy, riddled with humour, unforgettable musical numbers and uproariously eccentric characters. "The Producers" was an adaptation of the film with the same name, directed by Mel Brooks, an American film director.
New York-based Max Bialystock, a producer, can be repeatedly seen in the play, saying, "I want to be a producer," before he got the investor.
Max Bialystock a washed-up, aging, and also fraud and corruptible greedy Broadway producer who ekes out a living romancing lascivious wealthy elderly women in exchange for money for his next play.
Talking to Daily Times, LUMS Dramaline Society Media Coordinator Nihl Junaid said, "Such kind of events actually provide relief to the existing anxiety prevalent in the society. LUMS has always come up with new ideas. This year Dramaline presented "The Producer" play which not only carries a message but it also entertains the students."
She also said previously they produced "Rumors", "The Accused" and "Moulin Rouge". "The Producers" will be presented until
Sunday (today).
