How to buy the right Micro SD card for your Lumia

With a range of MicroSD cards available for Lumia smartphones, here’s how to choose the right one.

Just in case you didn’t know, a Micro SD card is one of the smallest removable flash memory cards available. Designed specifically for mobile phones, it’s about the size of your fingernail. You can store your documents, photos, videos, music, games and even apps on such a card.

When buying a MicroSD card, consider two things: storage capacity and the class on the card. Not all MicroSD cards offer the same speeds and you get better results with higher classes. Class 10, for example, offers a minimum performance of 10 MB per second.

Lumia phones such as the new Lumia 540, Lumia 640, and Lumia 640 XL already come with 8 GB of onboard storage. However, if you want to make the most out of your Lumia and have space for more games and images, opt for a 32GB or 64GB card or even a Micro SD card with a whopping 128GB of memory.
