After defeating the villainous Dr. Siddhant Arya and bringing his father Rohit back from the dead, Krrish continued fighting against evil and saving innocent lives. Now Krishna is living a happily married life with Priya while Rohit is using his scientific brilliance to benefit society. Unknown to them, a dark force is growing in another part of the world. Kaal - an evil genius is selfishly misusing his powers to spread fear, death and destruction. And he is being assisted by an army of very dangerous beings which he has created himself. Not long after Kaal`s plans are put into action, both Rohit and Krrish find themselves faced with a crisis of epic proportions which only they can resolve together. But when they finally cross paths with Kaal and his army, neither of them is prepared for what lies ahead. Kaal not only brings the world to the brink of disaster, he also puts the strength and love of Krishna and his family to the test. And Krrish has to somehow find the power within to face an unbeatable foe. The greatest battle between good and evil begins.

Every year, especially around Diwali, we all rush off like impatient junkies to watch yet another version of that classic dance-drama involving Ram and Ravan — Ramayan. Robot/Enthiran, Ra.One, Krrish 3, and many more in between. It’s sweet that we draw comfort from the familiar. But when mainstream Bollywood retells our favourite stories, they strip them down to the basics. Stories that could have evolved into a more nuanced battle between good and bad, become whittled down versions where black is jet black and white is radiant and glowing. All that our writers and directors do is throw in more and more prejudices to make the bad badder. Here writer-director-producer Rakesh Roshan has made the villain a wheel-chair bound bundle of neurosis and complexes. But political-incorrectness is hardly the issue here. Being underwhelmed is.
All supermen stories, whether desi or firangi, are hair-brained constructs where superheroes are created out of gibberish. And in these comic-book narratives the victory of good over evil is ordained. Yet, because they play on our complexes, superman and superiority, as well our fear of mortality, they work wonderfully for us.
Krrish 3, which comes to us exactly 10 years after Jadoo touched and healed the child-like Rohit Mehra (Hrithik Roshan), is a barely camouflaged Ramayan. That’s the setting for our superhero Krrish (Hrithik Roshan). And the film is based on a screenplay that’s creative in parts — it focuses on creating curious villains, even adding a provocative familial side-story. And it has some stunning CGI stunts and visuals.
The screenplay, though involving a range of conceits to cover the basic conceit — that of a flying, super-powerful man — second-guesses and provides answers to some niggling questions every time Krrish is on assignment. Thus, it has its a** covered. It’s efficient, but it doesn’t energise; it’s smart, but it doesn’t elevate.
Perhaps it’s age — of both daddy director and his star beta. I mean, when Krrish first came (Koi... Mil Gaya), Hrithik Roshan was 29; today he is 39. Perhaps this franchise, Krrish, has become chronic, a family outing every few years, and thus the proceedings are prosaic. Perhaps, Krrish has run its course.
I don’t know. What I do know is that Krrish 3 doesn’t soar. In fact, Krrish doesn’t even fly about a lot. And so he doesn’t scoop us up either, and lets us off a bit disappointed after promising an exciting, thrilling ride.
Amitabh Bachchan opens the film, narrating the story so far – neatl

y, but without any humour or irony. We meet Jadoo, Dr Siddhant Arya, Sonia Mehra, and recall how our rakshak and dost Krrish was born and bred.
We already know Krrish, so we are quickly introduced to his enemy — Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) — who lives in a steel capsule atop a snow-clad cliff and slithers about in a wheelchair. In this strange world, Siberian and supernatural, where transparent touch-screens have glowing figures and enlarging circles, he breeds stuff — creatures and deadly viruses, for insaniyat ka khatm
